Just found out that there is a .air application for AOL’s Xdrive online storage media: .

At the first sight is very good looking and very light, as every .air apps is.

It supports drag&drop operations, but in order to get your files there by dragging them, you’ll have to create a new folder from the Action Menu.

Trying to drop the files into the existing folders will fail, which made me bite my nails for a moment there.

If you’ve got a Xdrive account, this app is probably what you need to transfer your files, without having to logon into or battling with the original Xdrive Desktop application, which I’ve tried countless times and it wouldn’t let me log in.

Apart from being able to upload your media into Xdrive, there is also a Sharing option.

You should be able to share your uploaded files by sending an e-mail from the application itself.

Go to any of your folders or files you want to share, click on the drop down arrow and click the Share option.

This will send you to the next screen, from where you can insert the e-mail address of your friends, a title and a message.

Of course, there’s a bit more to it, so go ahead and install it and give it a try. You’ve got nothing to lose.

For those of you who don’t know about Xdrive: Xdrive is a 5 GB online media storage offered by AOL.

  • Back up all of your files — your documents, music, photos and more — automatically
  • Conveniently access all your files from anywhere.
  • Easily share permissible files with friends and family.
  • Get 5GB of free online storage!
