Timethief,i am sure BlogDesk is a very good one and i am not sure if you tried Writer, but it does have a spellchecker and i agree with the tag thing but you can insert keywords(on the Proporties and Trackbacks).
You also have the posibility to make a link be a tag by choosing the link rel.
Just have a good look at it.You'll see what i am mean.
I personally use Qumana, who has them all,but i gotta tell you,i am very impressed with Writer.

Wamzlee, you could try to replace Drupal with Joomla(Mambo).I think you'll like it.Plus, there are tons of other cms's there, from where you can choose. For Joomla, the plugins are cool and they've got few good ones.
As for Digg,i think you are on my friends list for one of the following reasons:1You made very funny comments. Or 2-Your comments always logic and to the point.
One of them.
That's the way i choose my friends.
Thank you also and very nice to meet you.

I should give this a try. I wonder if it will work with drupal? I doubt it, I can never get anything to work with drupal, not even digg.

By the way, its off topic, but I have to thank you. I was just looking through my digg profile for the first time in forever and saw you had me as a friend. Don't know what compelld you to add me as a friend (perhaps a few accidental clicks) but it made my day. Thank you.

If you have not tried BlogDesk then I suggest you download both programs and run a comparison. I use BloGDesk which IMO is superior. BlogDesk has a spellchecker and has a built in technorati tag generator ande Live Writer lacks both. Blog Desk is easier to use, uploads far more quickly. Granted Live Writer it does allow the insertion of a map which may be useful from time to time. But beware because it does not recognize the wordpress "more" tags. And it does not have as many options for image posting as BlogDesk does. Live Writer is of course geared for the use of IE which I have ignored ever since I got a firefox browser. Currently I'm favouring BlogDesk over Live Writer.
