Windows Live Writer beta 2 xmlrpc.php error
I was so excited to try out the new version of Windows Live Writer, till i installed it and tried to access some of my entries. Then the errors started.
It did remembered my old log in data, but it just wouldn’t work on the new version.
So, when trying to access the files from my blog, update my blog’s style or even update my log in data, i bumped into an error related to the xmlrpc.php and i was forbidden to access it because…it couldn’t be found.
Huh?
I tried again and again till i locked myself out of my blog. To be honest, i have no idea what happened but after trying WLW, i couldn’t log in for a while on my WP panel.
After searching a bit the net about this error, found a fix, but i won’t change any file, because all the other blog writing software that i have are accessing my WP just fine and with no error.
So what’s wrong with it? Maybe your host is blocking that php file, or maybe is just only a WLW doing nasty.
Now, i can access back my panel and… WLW is working. I didn’t do anything to it though.
If you find yourself in the same situation, don’t go right away modifying your htaccess file. Try another blogging software, and if that doesn’t work, then follow this link - Live Writer Groups - and probably you’ll be able to fix it.

i was facing the same problem once before. it was because, my hosting provider blocks xmlrpc from any access because of some security issues. to fix it, i edit my htaccess and unblock it.

Well, i didn’t had to do anything. It just fixed itself, and it was only with WLW.
I was very close to edit the htaccess file though…
