There is no doubt that Vista is a beautiful operating system.

What makes it beautiful is not only the look, but the new features ; my favorite one is the Multi-language Interface.

Let’s have a closer look to the Multi-language Interface:

Let’s say your Vista is in English and you have an Italian friend coming over, (or French, Spanish, Danish, etc…) and he isn’t used with the English interface… Well, can you help him use your Vista in his language and make it easy for him?

Of course you can. Install his language!

From the Control Panel, access Clock, Language and Region, and then click Change Display Language.

On the Language option, check to install a new language. Once the language has been installed, simply drop down Choose Display Language and make your choice.

Once you’ve chosen your downloaded language, you will be asked to log off. When you are logged back in, the interface language should be the one you’ve chosen.

I believe there are 15 languages that you can choose from at the moment.

You can switch back to your language at any time.

Two shots of my Vista in two languages:

Microsoft has done a great job with Vista, in my opinion, and i am really pleased with so far.

Hi Carol, I found this feature by accident once and it is pretty cool, handy way to practice also when learning a new language :)

I’ve heard some people say that their Vista upgrade went horribly wrong but my installation has been perfect and has not once crashed on me thus far in the six months that I have been using it. I love Office 2007 too, especially Outlook 2007, it’s almost perfect as a combined PIM, Email and RSS client. All that is missing from it now is blogging support, if Microsoft can integrate Live Writer into Outlook then I’ll be very happy indeed. And of course extend that support to WIndows Mobile :)

Super feature but it is probably wise to mention that the multi language functionality is not available in all the Vista releases. One will have to shell out extra to buy Ultimate or Enterprise versions of the already quite expensive Windows Vista.

    Hi,Carol
That’s really cool feature.I am Chinese but prefer using English versions of software.

Starting with Windows 2000, Microsoft has been offering some basic multi-language functionality, which means different languages can be supported by the system regardless of the language version of your Windows.

And now Vista can even support changing the interface language, this is awesome,I think it’s a major step forward. Since Linux has been offering this capability for a real long time.

    Hi,
My laptop is Windows Vista Home Premium.
I can not see the other language pack from ‘Windows Update’.
Can anyone send me English language pack?
