Ok…. this has been fixed since yesterday morning.

I have been through some nasty time getting this one to work, and i have been trying every way possible to find the problem and then to fix it.

See, after i installed Vista, everything went wrong and the installation just blocked. When trying again, i had the same problem, so went back to install Xp…which didn’t work.

Hirens boot cd can be a very great thing to have, so it helped me solve some very small things, like…fdisk, partitioning and so on, but that still didn’t worked out for me.

I finally decided to give it another go and i found the error : driver_irql_not_less_or_equalerror 3d6dd691 datestamp 41107d27.

After looking this one up, i came to the conclusion that it might be one of my ram sticks.

Next day i just took my Ati card off, along with one ram stick, replaced the vga card with another one and started the XP installation.

That did the trick.

Installation if XP went smooth and finalized…. and then I put the cards back in.

When that was done, i inserted my Vista in ( while running on XP) and installed it with absolutely no problem at all.

Now, i have them both installed and i dual boot.

Vista Ultimate looks amazing and i love it the way it is.

One thought though… it is so nice, that there’s not much to tweak and pimp on it.

    but the real question is…
… is vista really worth it?

considering that i don’t want to change computer and that I am satisfied with the software that i currently have…

    ;-)
    Peace

As a Microsoft Windows lover, I am seeing and appreciating Vista different than a normal user, so yes, to me, it is worth is.

    Hi Carol,

    When u say:

“As a Microsoft Windows lover, I am seeing and appreciating Vista different than a normal user, so yes, to me, it is worth is.”

Finding out where Vista is an improvement compared to XP it is exactly what I would like to know. I do not believe that the only improvements are about the UI or security over the internet.

The opinion of a “different than a normal user:” person is very valuable.
