    Hi,
my (automatic) trackback looks a little bit wrong. Better is this version:
“a nice short list without overkill found at carolsvault” or in german “eine kuze Liste der besten Opensource-Programme ”

Can you fix this and when delete this comment, please?

Thank you and best regards from Berlin, Germany
    Thomas

    Hello Klempner,

I’ve never hear of Typo3 so i had to look it up but i sure would like any suggestions regarding popular open source apps.

So shoot if you have others in mind.

If i gather more, then i will re-publish this entry with Extras.

    Thank you for the comment.

Great post. I really like ClamWin. It’s great to have a lightweight AV application for on demand scanning.

-However note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.

Geany is a great Text Editor. Works fantastic under Linux. I tried it once under Windows and I couldn’t install it. So I guess this is a recommendation for all the Linux Users.

    Thank you for the recommendation.

I will have to take care a bit of the Linux users as well.

OSDir.com is hardly a directory of open source software anymore. There has not been added any new software for more than a year - and most of the links there are dead.

Instead check-out Open Source Alternative - they recommend open source applications that are alternatives to well-known commercial products.
