Digsby – new improved version released

Digsby just released a new improved version. The release includes some major changes/improvements such as:
* Performance: We’ve optimized performance from the ground up, reducing overall CPU usage by about 50%
* Buddy List Search: Press Ctrl+F to easily search your buddy list or the web
* Emoticons: Added four new emoticon packs to choose from
* File Transfers: Improved the reliability of AIM, ICQ, and MSN file transfers
* Conversations: Added an option for new IM windows to start hidden and blink the tray icon instead of popping up a window
* New Infobox: The infobox now uses the same user interface control as the IM window (WebKit), making it much faster and more versatile
* Twitter: Added Retweet support
* MySpace: Added support for setting status on MySpace
* Google Talk: Added support for the Invisible status on Gtalk
* And More: Over 100 other bug fixes and enhancements!
I usually don’t blog about software that don’t work or have issues, but i wanted to try Digsby again…and again i had issues. This time was the installation.
It failed twice and i don’t know if is because i declined installing the two suspicious software “Registry power cleaner” and “PC confidential” or for some other reason. The third time it worked.

I got a tip from a fellow blogger “Life is a savage“ about this app called Nimbuzz and i gave it a try. It is a little bit like Fring but a lot cutter.

It combines all your buddies from Skype, Windows Live Messenger (MSN), Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, AIM, studiVZ, GoogleTalk, Facebook, MySpace, Jabber and many more. One login, one contact list, all accounts.”
As i said, a lot like Fring but…users can share files with each other, make phone calls while hooked into a wi-fi network via VoIp accounts to landlines and mobiles without being charged.
You can also locate your friends, and…if you’re in the mood to talk to any of them, you can buzz them.
Nimbuzz can be downloaded for mobile phones and pc. If you wish, you can use it via web interface, just like Meebo.
