I know that there are lots of those around, but let me introduce you to a very good looking and nice cleaning/tweaking freeware - nCleaner.

Aside from the attractive interface, is a more than a cleaner. It searches your whole system for junk files, cookies, temp files, broken registry keys, broken shortcuts and so on…

……and it also lets you work your way to the Windows services from where you can disable the ones that aren’t needed, plus you can work on some privacy settings.

Don’t know which services you don’t need? Just hit the Suggested button and it will do it for you. Do the same with the Privacy settings.

One other feature that the has, is the Startup manager, so it will be easy to do some of your PC maintenance with one software only.

I don’t think my description really gives it justice, but if you want, you can try it out yourself.

From the website :

nCleaner contains an advanced system and application cleaner with over 90 cleaning items available, a Registry Cleaner, a Tweak Manager, an advanced Startup Manager, a Junk Finder, a Free Space Shredder, a System Resource Monitor, a System Adviser, supports logging and statistics as well as advanced Scheduling.

Visit and pick it up.

Platforms: Windows Xp, 2003, Vista

Languages - English and Romanian

Don’t forget yo make a Restore Point before you proceed.

Just run it and it’s amazing the amount of junk it’s cleared out.Well pleased.

It certainly cleared away a lot of junk but I probably wasn’t careful enough when I hit the confirm delete button - I had to reinstall an application afterwards to get it to run and all my folder contents had reverted to icons instead of the details list I prefer. But overall it’s ok, worth having.

    Hi Bernard,

I have the same problem after cleaning up registry keys with RegToy Reg Cleaner…so you probably cleaned up the registry and had one key removed which led to reinstalling your application.

I don’t think it was the junk cleaner itself….
As for folders….did a complete cleanup and nothing happened to me with any of them.

Be careful though when cleaning Empty Folders and Empty files.

Carol this tool is really useful and I used it and now I am using the scheduling function of this program to carry out the regular maintance of my computer. The best part I liked was it is compatible with Vista. :)

BTW I am back in the blogosphere…. :D
