I can’t minimize, maximize or close Firefox windows
Today i had the weirdest thing happening with my Firefox.
I was basically unable to maximize or close it, while it was stuck as minimized, unless i did it through the task manager.
Firefox was running but it was invisible.
After backing up, deleting, installing fresh, loading up from backup, deleting localstore.rdf, backing up again and clicking on the bar like never before, i decided to trace back to the last thing i did.
I installed FF in another two folders so i can test any changes i was about to make, and load up for both the same user profile as on the original one.
Tracing back….I installed some new addons and a theme.
But how could i get in there and disable them if i couldn’t maximize the window?
Without any access to it, it appeared to be a bit impossible to get all my stuff back.
Here’s what did it:
I highlighted the stuck firefox, then hit ALT+Space+S.
That gave me a very strange view to the Firefox toolbar, which by the way was enough to get me to the tools and then addons.
Once in there, i disabled the last used theme and activated the default one.
As silly as it sounds, on restart i had no problem whatsoever.
To make sure that the fault was in that theme, i fixed the same way the two other FF’s.
The theme? Aero Silver Fox Basic.
And this was the only thing that could restore my Firefox without losing anything.
If you happen to encounter something like this, just do what i did and it will work.

I had a similar problem with a theme, where the home page wouldn’t load and i was left with all the toolbars and just a white screen,by going back to the default theme and it worked perfect.
Sometimes on booting up,it is minimised in the top left corner of the screen and sometimes,if i have to close the browser,to get off Facebook or something, that is refusing to let me leave,i’ll clear the history, try to reopen the browser, only to be told, that there is a version of Firefox already running and i’ve got to close that first, but if i double click on the Firefox icon,it will open up.
It’s not as perfect as people think.

It’s not perfect indeed, David.
The FF 3 has been causing me problems since i installed it and while it’s fast, i can’t see a huge improvement when it comes to memory.
Let’s hope for a better update.
