I am not a big user, therefore I don’t really know that much about how to download the Youtube videos to my hard drive.

Today I had to download a video for my bf, and he asked me to burn it to a cd or DVD and then I had to do a quick search on how all this Youtube download thing works.

There are probably many ways to download the videos and convert them from .flv but all that information I got, just confused me.

As I said, I am a new to all this and all I wanted was to download and burn the video…. and then I found a web site that really made it incredibly easy for me, . No software downloads, no nothing.

.flv file convertor

All you have to do is put in your video’s URL and choose the conversion type. When the conversion is done, you’ll be able to save the video on your hard drive.

That’s it.

Quick tip : If you prefer the .flv files, you can download them easy via KeepVid.com, and play them with FLV player.

good find .. I had tried some softwares too
I found one called vdownloader (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Download-Managers/VDownloader.shtml) to be best .. simple and effective

But this is still better .. no downloads at all :)

    Exactly!

I don’t mind downloading and installing software but i don’t want to install them if i only use them twice a year.

Glad you found it useful and thank you for the comment.

For playing flv files I recommend 2 programs

    http://www.wimpyplayer.com/products/wimpy_standalone_flv_player.html

    http://sweb.cityu.edu.hk/50689882/flv.html

Both don’t need to be installed :)

Thanks Carol, I had been trying out several FLV converters, but this one does the job, without installing anything.
