I didn’t think i would see this any soon and i don’t know for how long is this out, but i just saw it today on Google.be

People from Belgium can now create a gmail account without an invitation.

I don’t know if this is suppose to happen, but when hitting the Probeer Gmail Beta button, i am being sent to Google Accounts page in English.

Never mind that. If you live in Belgium and you haven’t got a gmail account, go now and get one.

Saw this on Google.nl a few days ago. Seems like you are not the only lucky one. ;) (Although I must say I have about 100 invites …).
Just tried .co.uk and .pl.. They seem to be lucky too. ;)
But http://www.google.com/webhp was the only one that doesn’t advertise it.

I’m certain i read in a magazine that they were changing their policy and that anybody could get an account.

Martijn, i have lots of gmail accounts and i got them in the beginning, when gmail was out, and i also got hundreds of invitations to send.

The reason i am seeing it so late, is because i rarely access the front page of Google.

Dave, that has changed. I think is about time they started giving gmail away without an invitation.

Could be there for weeks, I just saw it a few days ago. I always use the search built-in to Firefox. ;-)
