Run Folder Size if your disk runs out of space
Folder Size is a little freeware (1.96 Mb) able to scan and display file and folder sizes in your computer.
If you feel like you are running out of space, then a quick analysis with this little app will give you a detailed view of the used space on your drive.
I tested this app and compared it to Glary Utility Disk analysis tool and the result is the following:
Glary takes a lot longer to scan your computer and consumes some resources, while Folder Size will do it in a matter of minutes and very smoothly.
Glary has the “Delete” option visible, while with Folder size you need to right-click to get the option, which is not so much of a dig deal.
Bottom line: Folder Size is one little goodie worth having installed on your system.
Here are some Folder Size screenshots and here you can read about the features of this app.
From the website:
The application will display the sizes of the folders and files and also the percentage of the total disk size that they occupy. The neat report can be sorted in order to identify the largest folders and the largest files. You can easily figure out which files or folders have filled up your drive space as Folder Size will also scan the sizes of all the subfolders. The application can scan your entire hard drive in minutes due to its optimized scan algorithms. The progressive scan will let you continue the scan from the point of interruption.
