New Habits-Can we change? Can we develop new habits?

I’ve just finished reading a great article on The New York Times about developing new habits.

It’s a beautiful article, very insightful and well written. In fact, is been a while since I’ve read something so good as this post:

From the article:
HABITS are a funny thing. We reach for them mindlessly, setting our brains on auto-pilot and relaxing into the unconscious comfort of familiar routine. “Not choice, but habit rules the unreflecting herd,” William Wordsworth said in the 19th century. In the ever-changing 21st century, even the word “habit” carries a negative connotation.

Please, do take few minutes of your time and read it. It’s all worth it.

Confession: I am a course addict.

Whenever I find a good course I’m immediately into it.

Most of the time the courses I read are not directly related to my job, but you might be surprised to find out how helpful they can be in certain situations.

in one of the web sites with over 650 courses and tutorials, and some of them are really worth having a look at.

Computer, Accountancy, Marketing, Finances are just few categories from about 50 available and the courses provided are very well presented and easy to understand.

This is not one of the usual learning web sites I usually blog about.

To get to the full courses, you will have to pay a yearly fee, around £99, and only then you will get a full access to all courses.
Don’t worry though…you can still access the courses, their very short versions or just the summaries.

If they are teasing you enough, you can then sign up….Like a “try before you buy”.

Curious enough? Follow the link and sign up for a trial.

Blog review: David’s freeware and a bit of everything

Blog Reviews, Recommended Links, Tech Blogs, Blogging, Freeware March 16th, 2008

Early today I was having a chat with my buddy about starting some blog reviews and he thought the idea was great.

In fact, he wanted to review some blogs himself, and he actually beat me to it, because he started first….with a review about my blog.

It might seem like i am returning a favour, which is not.
I actually chose his blog to be first on my review series.

also known as is a relatively young blog, about a bunch of stuff, but with a high amount of Windows XP and Vista freeware, open source and free online applications.

His reviews are fair, and just as i would do, he is testing them first and then passes on the recommendation.
He’s got passion to spread the word and if an application is worth talking about, he’ll do it immediately.

The “A Little Bit Of Everything” blog is something you’d want to add to your feeds list, because if you are one of the people trying to keep up with the new and trendy stuff on the web, then you’ve just found your source.

Also, taking that his big passion is the music, chances are you’ll find in there a bunch if tunes or music web sites recommendations.

There is so much to say about his blog and it would only be fair to do it, but you better head over there and start digging through his tags.

This week’s blog review: - Highly recommended.
