When loading a disc in your Xbox 360 console, the disc spins but is not reading

When i thought i had every Xbox 360 error, another one came along.
The problem:
When loading a game into my 360, the disc spins for a second then stops. From displaying “Reading” it quickly changes to “Open tray”.
Possible causes:
1) There’s a problem with the console
2) There’s a problem with the hard drive
3) There’s a problem with the disc player – the laser got lazy
Possible solutions:
If you only have the problem above – NO screen freezing, No lights flashing – and you’ve already tried spinning several games, then try the following:
WordPress blank screen after upgrade to 2.8

Yesterday evening i decided that it was about time to upgrade my Wordpress from 2.7 to 2.8 and after successfully backing up all my files, i ran the upgrade.
It went smooth. I upgraded the database, activated my plugins, got on the admin and then…bam! A white screen suddenly greeted me.
I thought it was just a temporary issue until i realized i can’t get into the admin area. Like the blue screen of death in Windows….except it was all white and no error. Read the rest of this entry »

Increase bandwidth for networks and internet connections

Here’s a tweak to increase your internet connection and get a better response from servers.
Go to Start/Run and type in Regedit.
Once the editor is open, navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings.
Right click on a blank space on the right and then select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and type in : MaxConnectionsPerServer.
Now we need to edit this DWORD . Right click, then Modify and change to “Decimal“ and add a number between 2 and 15. I added 10.
The last step: create a new registry key called: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server. Follow the same steps and settings as the key above.
Close and exit.
Note: For Vista 64bit you must add a QWORD.
Possible fix – Can't join a friend's game on Xbox 360

This issue really kills me, so i went through some forums after reading something about “pings“.
Considering that the issue is to connect to another friend’s game or chat, it is only logic that this is a network related problem.
According to the guys from TeamXlink.co.uk – see this thread – “All 360 games have a ping limit on them that won’t allow you to join the game if the host’s ping is over 30ms to you.” -”you can help your ping by closing all other apps that use the internet .. msn, aim, torrents etc ..”
If you, for instance, are only allowed to use 1 connection – 1 IP that is, you must indeed close all other apps. In fact, keep your computer offline while playing on the xbox live.
My ISP allows me to use 4 IP’s, which makes things easier. I also make sure that there isn’t any IP conflict between my devices.
So, the solution above is applicable to those gamers who are allowed to use 1 IP address, but if you are allowed to more than 1 and you still have the issue, try the fix anyway.
