It’s difficult describing a search engine. What else one could say about it, except that it finds stuff?
But how about when you need to look up for something specific and all you get back is a bunch of information that not only you don’t have the time to process, you also don’t get the info you are looking for.
I once asked myself from where do people take all those PowerPoint slideshows i keep getting into my mailbox and of course i thought that they just “google” stuff. What else, right?
Somebody thought about making a search engine dedicated to PowerPoint slideshows ( that has nothing to do with Google) - SlideFinder.
I tested it with a search for “statistics 2009″, and i got back some really great and relevant results.
There’s probably more to say about it, but i am having another blogger’s block, so i’ll leave you to it.
Visit SlideFinder.

Social Media Metrics Plugin For Google Analytics is a Greasemonkey script that adds Digg, Sphinn, Mixx, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us to your Google Analytics reports.
To add the script, you must first install Greasemonkey [Firefox] and then install the Social Media Plugin. That’s all there is to it.
As you can see in the screenshot below, when you check the views on a link, you should have displayed the services i mentioned above.

Launched in private Alpha stage today, PhotoFinder is a face recognition application for Facebook build by an Israeli company – Face.com – intended to help you scan and find pictures that you or your friends have uploaded and haven’t been tagged yet.
If you’re like Arrington from Techcrunch.com or Robert Scoble ( famous with thousands of pictures that is), you probably have no idea how many untagged pictures of you have been uploaded to Facebook, so you’re probably curious to see them, to remember the events you’ve attended and people you’ve met.
And is not only the number of the pics you might want to find out about, but also maybe some embarrassing ones from parties.
In my opinion, this app is the perfect one to get a hold of your images spread all over Facebook.
When i first heard about this application i was a little bit worried, but this app respects your privacy and only the pictures that are being uploaded to the public can be found. I tested it, so i can vouch for it.
The guys from Techcrunch.com have a very extensive explanation about this application and the company that build it, a quite interesting article which i really recommend you read it here.
They also had some invitations to this app but i bet they are off by now. But you know what? I have 20 invitations for you if you care to join. Take that Techcrunch!
If you can’t get your invitation, please let me know and i’ll bribe someone there to give me another 20.
