If you are looking for an anti-virus and you don’t want using any of freeware anti-viruses i have listed on my Freeware Vault, then you might want to try CA Antivirus 2007, which is offered to all Microsoft customers as a free trial version for one full year.
Personally, i didn’t tried it, so before installing it you might want to do a google search for reviews about this antivirus.
There’s another anti-virus that you can have a look at, and that is Active Virus Shield offered by Aol. You might want to be careful with this one because they’ve got some EULA issues.

Most of the software offers the best/ quality service for free but as soon as it detected the virus it required you to purrchase. I want one that allows me to test theirs for free before the purchase

I use ZA and McAfee. They make a good pair. These days, Spyware threats are bigger than virus threats. My choice for Antispy is AdAware.
I will try CA and let you guys know.

Ajay, i like AVG but the 7.5 version is causing me problems.
CJ, thanks for the heads up.
I have no experience with CA and i do not intend to install it, but i hope they got better in the mean while….

I’d stay away from CA antivirus. I was working with an IT company that implements CA solutions. While the other components of CA worked great, the antivirus was a real let down. Viruses that could have been cured by even freebie AVG had not been detected by CA’s antivirus. No thanks…

Somehow I’ve always stuck with AVG. Will, until it’s free. Unlike other software, and antivirus does require more work wrt uninstalling and trying out a new one.
